If I could tell you one thing about how I approach therapy, it is:
I offer help and support to people who are interested in learning to draw on their own strengths and resources to solve problems and to improve the quality of their lives and their relationships. I am a strength-based, solution-oriented therapist trained in family systems. I use research based measures to assess how therapy is working and to insure that I am helping you to meet your therapy goals.
I have worked as a therapist for over 15 years. My clinical experience includes working in outpatient settings with individuals, couples and families. I have experience providing outpatient assessment and treatment, crisis intervention, short- and long-term therapy, group therapy, workshops, and organizational development. I have facilitated divorce support groups; led workshops on the emotional impact of divorce and on how parents can help their children through the divorce process. I help couples in the decision making process of staying together or separating; I help couples to heal from past hurts; I support individuals through their divorce process; and work with adults to help them co-parent their children after separation.

I strongly believe that you have the strength and skills to weather the difficult journey of divorce. That hope and optimism helps to motivate you to do the work you need to do to draw on those strength and skills as you move forward. It would be an honor to accompany you on your journey to self-acceptance, relief of symptoms and healing.
I have facilitated divorce support groups, led workshops on the emotional stages of divorce and on how parents help their children through the divorce process. I talk about how it really is “normal to feel ‘crazy’ right now” during this process. I have led workshops on grieving, stress management, values clarification and conflict resolution.
Education and Trainings:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor through the state of Virginia. I hold a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Development and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. I also hold a Master’s Degree in Accounting. I am certified in Myers-Briggs Type Inventory.
I continue my training and have recently taken additional training in couples work, stress management, interpersonal neurobiology, emotion focused therapy, ethics, and clinical excellence.

Pamela’s education and training enable her to help clients successfully navigate through the myriad of personal and financial decisions they face during their lives. She assists them in attaining a higher level of financial security through education, understanding and scenario planning. With this knowledge, she develops a customized approach for each client’s planning needs.
She attended the University of Missouri-Columbia for her undergraduate degree and received her Masters of Business Administration degree in Financial Management from Averett University.

Certifications and Awards:
Throughout her financial services career, she has acquired several client service and financial planning awards. She successfully completed the demanding requirements to become a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor through the College of Financial Planning. Pamela is currently enrolled in the CFP Professional Education Program to become a Certified Financial Planner.
Community Involvement and Personal Information:
In the community, Pamela has become a strong voice for women as the personal finance columnist for Fairfax Woman Magazine, a lifestyle magazine for women in Fairfax County, VA, where she discusses financial topics related to women and their finances. Her knowledge in this area has led to her involvement with the National Association of Baby Boomer Women as a retirement planning contributor, the Women’s Center and the Women’s Institute for a Secure Retirement.
As an advocate for financial literacy, Pamela conducts financial education seminars and workshops with employees of corporations and small businesses, schools and churches throughout the DC metro area.
Pamela is also a Fairfax County Chapter President of the National Association of Professional Women, an exclusive network for professional women dedicated to enhancing their lives and promoting their businesses and careers.
Pamela is married and lives in Centreville, VA raising their three children. She devotes her free time to her family, her church and enjoys reading and loves to sing.
